His Presence feels like Heaven

Back a few years ago I was reflecting about God and how His Presence feels like Heaven. Heaven wouldn't be Heaven without God. When I feel His Presence, especially when I am singing praises to Him, I can feel His love, peace, rest, awe, and holiness. As I pondered about this, it made me think about people who have tasted His wonderful Presence, people who have had wonderful encounters with the Lord, but who, for whatever reason, fall away from the faith. How could anyone turn away from God after tasting from His goodness?! Well, we can see the first example of that hapenning in Heaven. Lucifer and some of the angels lived in the fullness of God's Presence and still turned away from Him. It seems that at some point, they lost the fear of the Lord. "And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil." (Proverbs 16:6b) Lucifer and the fallen angels chose evil rather than God, because they didn't fear Him. It also seems that Lucifer and possibly the fallen angels started to feel like they deserved as much glory as God. "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakend the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit." (Isaiah 14:12-15). All that to say that, it is wonderful to be in and feel God's Presence, but we all are susceptible to turn away from Him if we are not mindful of who He is. He is God and we are not. He deserves the glory and not us. He should be reverenced and feared, and of course, we should love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
